There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’s stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Yang is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from the Philippines and is a fan of BLANK2Y, and particularly of DK. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? Hi! I am Yang, 19 years old, from the Philippines. How and when did you enter the fandom? I get into them first and mainly because of YoungBin, who was a former “I-LAND” participant. I have already entered the fandom before the members were announced. It was December 6 of 2021 to be exact. What are the reasons why this rookie group is your favorite group? I would say that the reason why they became my favorite is simply because they made feel complete. Like, another level of completeness that I won’t ever feel from others. What do you think differentiates this rookie group from the others? As a multistan, I have to say that BLANK2Y was the PUREST. Who caught your attention at first and why? Did you know any members prior to their debut? I won’t deny that it was SoDam who first caught my attention. It basically started when they’ve had their first YouTube live and to note that ’twas also the very first time we’ve seen them together as a group. Well, I was really stunned by his charm and seeing the lovely side of him caught me really off guard. And yes, I’ve known YoungBin since “I-LAND”. Do you have a bias yet? If yes, tell us why. It was really hard for me to decide at first because I was always into YoungBin and I love all the members, but when I’ve got to know them well, there was DK who made me feel like I should choose him. DoKyun (DK) became my bias because there’s something special about him that comforts me as a whole, like, I have been longing for that for quite a long time. Although, I feel comforted by the others too, I just find him way too different. Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? I highly recommend ‘Thumbs Up’, since it was their debut song. Also, ‘Constellation’ and ‘I Wish’ for B-sides.
Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or other from your favorite group or bias? I recommend all their dance covers of TBZ (THE BOYZ) and NCT127!
For you, what is your bias’ best stage outfits until now? Please share a picture or fan cam. For me, that “MuBank” (“Music Bank”) stage of him will always has the best outfit. For it was also the day he came back from recovering to his surgery and their first OT9 stage. What is your biggest dream for your favorite group/bias aside from being happy and healthy? My biggest dream for BLANK2Y is to get known widely and to achieve their personal and as well as group’s dreams. What is your first comment on a live broadcast of your favorite idol? I think it was “Omg omg! Y’all look so good!!!” 🤭 Is there particular information that you want to say to new fans because they mostly don’t know about it? I guess new K2YWE don’t know how interactive and sweet BLANK2Y really is to the fandom. If you go to only one, would you go to a concert, fan meeting, or fan sign? I would probably go to their concert, I mean all events will be memorable but concert hits indeed different. If you have a chance to cook for the group, what will you cook for them? As a Filo (Filipino) stan, I would love to cook them some Filipino dishes. It’s either Sinigang (a soup dish) or Kare-Kare (a stew dish). If you can spend a day with your bias, where will you go and what will you do? I would roam around with him without thinking of a specific place, whatever and wherever he’d like would be great for me. We might just talk, eat, and roam together. Describe them in 5 words PUREST, BLESSING, LOVING, TALENTED, & WORTHY. What is a random fact that you think people don’t know about them? They don’t go inside the pink room. 🙈 Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias? It was during their debut showcase and I teared up the moment he cried while they were singing ‘Constellation’. What about your bias do you relate to the most? We both like dogs. What is one thing that you think is unique about your bias/bias group? His smile. 🥺 If you could write a book about your bias, what would the first and last lines be? The first line would be: “I am grateful that we’ve got the chance to share each other’s dream and live this life the way how we want it to be.” Last line: “Thank you for everything, I’ll cherish every moment that we’ve been together until the end of time.” What is your 2022 prediction for your favourite idol? They’ll have their 2nd comeback. 😳 What are the things you are looking for in their future activities? I am looking forward to and manifest their first win, next season of “BLANK2Y’S”, and BETTER PROMOTIONS! Thank you for answering our questions, Yang.
