Not only so, the show also displays the hardships of high school students in terms of fitting into the society. “Seasons Of Blossom” takes people into the realm of nostalgia, the time we too began to learn about the depth of relationships. Here is how. This article contains spoilers.
1. Nostalgic First Love
K-Drama heavily emphasize on the impact of ‘first love’. The type of love with all the pure intentions, when one feels their heart beat crazily for someone. The type of love that brings you into an entirely new phase. Perhaps, first loves aren’t as important in real life as in dramas. But one cannot deny that they are indeed special. “Seasons Of Blossoms” takes you back to those days and to experience it again. At the beginning of the drama, we meet SoMang and HaMin. HaMin seems like the most perfect student, but he is completely different. SoMang is timid but kind-hearted. One thing in common between them is that they are lonely. SoMang is almost invisible, unlike Hamin, but, he, too, doesn’t have anyone who he can really call a friend. The two grow closer and become more special to each other. Six years later, SoMang still hasn’t been able to move on from him. She is reluctant to start all over again and date someone else. When she visits her school, he is all that she can see. Similarly, we meet JaeMin (Kim MinKyu) and BoMi (Kang HyeWon). Both of them like each other and JaeMin has confessed his feelings. BoMi, though, steps back after knowing that her best friend too likes him. BoMi, who holds people she loves above herself, continues to sacrifice her own feelings. But that doesn’t change her feelings for JaeMin. This shows another case of first love, where they separate before they can even confess.
2. Sacred Friendships
High school friendships are known to be sacred and closest to the heart. At a time where one is stuck between childhood innocence and upcoming adulthood, the major task is to find those who you belong with. It is as if you found your soulmate. The same is the case for BoMi and Kang SeonHee (Oh YuJin). There comes a clash between them when both of them start liking JaeMin. But they don’t let that separate them. The two are willing to let go of him so the other could be happier. She is completely the opposite from BoMi. She struggles to reject people but does not hesitate to state her opinion. In that way, she also protects BoMi.
3. The Need To Fit In
The show tells the story of 18-year-olds who have many secrets hidden. When we look closely, these secrets and insecurities are very relatable to a high school student. It is the time when one has to prepare themselves for the adult world and mark their position in society. Initially, we saw HaMin. The mark he wanted to make was to be a model student and perfect. He is acquainted with many and exceled in his studies. He got confessed to many times and he kindly took the gifts. When SoMang said that she does not have friends, he said that he doesn’t either and that it was all about socializing and nothing more. Then we have BoMi, the one who cannot say no to others. She’s a model student with beautiful features, but she has her flaws.
