Who knew Chae JongHyeop in a suit can be hot yet adorable at the same time? Truly a sight to see. But that is not it! There are many more reasons why Chae JongHyeop has entered the list of CEO Crushes in the K-Drama world. Keep reading to know. This article contains spoilers.
1. Park InSeong Is The Epitome Of Optimism
Park InSeong is the perfect definition of the word optimism. He is an ambitious job-seeker in Seoul and the only son of his parents. Despite being 29-years-old, he is still juggling in between part-time jobs but that does not take away his spirit. He is looked down upon by the world, like in episode 1, he was fired from his job and taunted for still not having a permanent job. Furthermore, he was constantly compared to the chief’s son by his father whenever he returned home. Nonetheless, he keeps his chin up and smiles broad. He does not let the stress get to him, instead he continues to work hard with the hope that he will succeed. He was full of hope when he was called for the final interview in Silver Lining. He proudly exclaimed about it to his mother on the phone, but moments later, a disaster occurred. InSeong accidentally jumped onto Jeong SeYeon (Seo EunSoo) and had coffee spilled all over him. The two then switch shirts and he gives his interview. Even though the interview ends up as a disaster, he still praised her kindness rather than ignoring it and only stressing out. He was not even too much disheartened about how things turned out to be. Yet, InSeong is a character very close to reality and has many shades to him. He was affected by the words and it saddened him. He does acknowledge the situation he is in and wishes to improve. At one time, he even grew agitated over his father’s complaints and the two argued. When he was being interviewed for Silver Lining, he was again irritated when his lack of experience was being pointed out. He argued that to have an experience he must be given a chance.
2. InSeong Brings Hope In The Otherwise Cruel World
InSeong takes a huge leap from financially struggling to becoming a temporary CEO of one of the emerging companies in the country. Despite that, he does not gain arrogance nor does he misuse his powers. He willingly stays loyal to Kim SeonJu and helps him to the end. The show also demonstrates how people abuse their workplace power. InSeong accidentally bumps into an elderly woman who works as a cleaner at the company. Soon after, she was being scolded and tormented by a yelling team leader at the company. This triggers InSeong, since he was treated too like that before. He takes a stand at the scene and protects the woman from being tormented. He is also super sweet to SeonJu’s daughter. Even though, he was not obligated to look after her. He would still tie her hair up and even play to make her happy.
3. Chae JongHyeop’s Duality As Park InSeong
Chae JongHyeop displays his incredible acting skills through Park InSeong. The character is well known for characters that are naturally joyous in nature. Even though InSeong is an adorable character, he often switches to a charismatic CEO. When he made his first appearance at the office, the employees try to woo him. So they came out to greet him. This does flatter him, but he quickly gains composure and shows his disapproval. He was also looked down upon by the shareholders for still being fresh, especially by Bumyoung Motor’s chairman, Oh YoungGuen (Jung DongHwan). They often tried to intimidate him and pull him down, but InSeong stood on his ground. He would bravely yet subtly threaten them. As much as we love JongHyeop’s adorable eye-smile, his charismatic side takes the viewer’s breath away. InSeong is unstoppable and that is what makes him a perfect lead in the story. He is devoted, ambitious and full of joy even during hardships. Such qualities make him endearing to the viewers. He is different from many CEO characters in K-Dramas, but nonetheless, he has caught the attention.
